Meet The Team
Kat Eggart has been involved in dance since the age of four. She has been teaching dance for over 20 years in Westport Ct, Ridgefield Ct and at Norwalk Community College.As a dancer/choreographer, she has performed and choreographed at New York Knicks games, Disney World Resort in Florida, Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino and toured with the Paul Hall Contemporary Dance Theatre. She is currently teaching students in a number of different techniques including jazz, modern, tap, lyrical, and hip hop. She has also taught Creative Dance, Introduction to Dance, and Dance Etiquette. Just Dance Studios opened in the fall of 2007 and aims to increase children's self-esteem through the educational and performance techniques of the art of dance.

Lindsay Carpenter began her ballet training at the age of three at The Academy of Ballet Etudes in Norwalk. She continued her training at MontclairState University where she received a BFA in dance and a minor in nutrition. She has performed roles in The Nutcracker, Coppelia, La Sylphide, Sleeping Beauty, La Boutique, as well many other modern and contemporary pieces. Although Lindsay loves preforming she has found a passion for teaching. She has been teaching ballet,acro, and lyrical throughout the tri-state area for the past six years; as well as coaching competitive gymnastics.
Kelly Kaleta started her dance training in Western MA at the age of 6, studying ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop before graduating from high school. While attending Boston University, she began teaching in the Boston area and throughout Massachusetts. She now teaches up and down the east coast and Canada, doing master classes and conventions, workshops and performances. She is a faculty member and choreographer for Gil Stroming’s Break the Floor, a biannual workshop in NYC, which culminates in an off-Broadway show. She has done choreography for the Legacy Dancers and many competition groups, and her students have received numerous awards. in 2006, she was a cast member of Imagine Tap, choreographed and directed by Derik Grant, and most recently can be seen in Guy Madeline on a Park Bench, a film making its world debut at this years Tribeca Film Festival, in which she choreographed and performed.
Hip Hop, Street Jazz
Jake Pesquira was born in Cebu, Philippines and raised in Queens, NY; Jake has been experienced as a former Co-founder and Co-Director of two local New York Dance Teams, ABDC’s Fr3sh Dance Company (NJ) Season 5 Alumni, E.P.I.C. Motion Dance Company (NY) Alumni, one of the ‘foreign’ members of Mischief Makers (LA) directed by Beau Fournier from ABDC’s Fanny Pak, and currently a dancer and choreographer for America’s Best Dance Crew Season 4 Rhythm City Dance Company(NY) led by Alonzo Williams. Taking the stage at many showcases, competitions, he also had the opportunity to perform both local and national TV on QPTV (Queens Public Television) and on Wild Out Wednesday (W.O.W.) on BET network. With the utmost respect and gratitude, he’s been blessed to work on several projects for amazing choreographers such as Alonzo Williams, Dennis Caindec, Neil Schwartz, and Adrian Causing, performed and presented choreography at Angelica Salem Benefit Concert, East Coast Dance Concert (ECDC), Carnival (Choreographer’s Ball) NY, and Prelude East Coast Dance Competition. He has also worked with major companies participating in the “Bronx Flava” ad campaign with Pepsi, and Walmart among other major artists such as Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys, and Will Smith. Choreographed and danced for now signed artists: Frankie Zulferino (NEXT) “Last Man on Earth” Music Video, DOMO (The Voice) “Thru the Rain” Music Video. Currently working with independent artists in New York and LA for choreography and part of their entertainment teams. Among 3 International Tours with DOMO ft Rhythm City in China and Japan, Johnny Wright’s US PopNation Tour 2015, he also performed at the US OPEN 2014 Opening ceremony on National Live TV with Fitz and the Tantrums, IZOD center for the Superbowl 2014 among other artists like The Fray and Cindy Lauper. Jake has taught jazz funk and hip hop of all levels in many studios and locations in the east coast as well as overseas; New York - Ripley Grier Studios, Pearl Studios, Peridance, Gibney, Boston, New Jersey, Virginia, Washington D.C., Los Angeles “Boogiezone” Studios, China, and Japan. His teaching motif is adding a forwarding message or a tool to his students to provide them with practical knowledge and skills to use not only in dance but in life.
Lauren Barrett began her training at Robin Horneff's PAC. She's performed with Ben Vereen at Make a Wish Foundation Benefits as well as with Wyclef Jean and the Temptations at the Princess Grace Foundation's Benefit for the Prince of Monaco. She's performed on the CBS Morning Show, ESPN, Spike TV and "The View" and in an International American Express Commercial. She has worked and performed with choreographers such as Jared Grimes, Gil Stroming, Mike Minery, Larissa Shelvedina, Peff Modelsky, Allen Howard, Dan Karaty, Mia Michaels, Dee Caspary, Tokyo, Tyce Diorio, Jaymz Teluvia, and Travis Wall. For two years she was a part of Synthesis Dance Project, Dir. Tracie Stanfield. Then she joined the dance company :pushing progress, Dir. Calen Kurka. Her choreography has been showcased at "Falling Awake" and "Glass Houses" as well as The "Hot Series" at Bridge for Dance. She taught at New Dance Group NYC where they also showcased her work in The Teachers Showcase for her choreography. She is thrilled to be a part of this studio!
Hip Hop, Break Dance
Nicole Whitaker has been dancing for 14 years, trained in hip hop and break dance. A non stop competitor, ranked top break dance girl in USA. Specializing in connecting with the students, bringing out the best in them through dance. Building up their confidence and expressing their unique individual and group skills. The class will consist of warmups that help choreography that keeps the body moving! Setting new goals of the body’s creativity, involving in every class. Learning how to make dance moves more then just steps but having the feeling within the movements. Nicole Whitaker is full of energy and very passionate about her work, having 10 years of experience teaching break dance and hip hop from children to adults. Not only teaching dance moves and how to use your body as an instrument to the music, as well as building up confidence within one's self, Nicole stands by the motto “Dance for yourself, if someone understands good. Sandy Ross is a classically trained ballet dancer from Norwalk, CT. She earned her BFA in dance from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Upon graduation she danced professionally as a company member with New York Theatre Ballet. There she danced original choreography by Agnes De Mille, Frederick Ashton, and Matthew Neenan in New York City and across the nation. Sandy has also performed with Connecticut Ballet and the Summer Theatre of New Canaan. Currently she is a free lance dancer, choreographer, and Pilates instructor. Sandy started Pilates at a young age as a supplement to her ballet conditioning but really became passionate about the method under the instruction of Kathy Grant while at NYU. She recently received her mat certification from Simona Cipriani's the Art of Control. Sandy likes to emphasize protecting the student's body in her dance classes to create strong, healthy, and happy dancers.
Rachel Maclsaac began her dance training in MA and NH but since then it has taken her all over the world! She attended the University of the Arts in Phila, PA where she received her BFA in Dance Education. While in college worked at Hershey Park and soon after was given the chance to dance aboard Holland America Line Cruise Ships. The next few years literally took her dancing around the world! She then moved to NYC where she lived and worked in Musical Theatre. She has been lucky enough to perform regionally in such shows as West Side Story, A Chorus Line, Joseph..., Wedding Singer and Les Miserables. Most recently she got the amazing opportunity to join the Broadway National Touring Company of Mamma Mia! which took her all over North America! Throughout her performing career Rachel has also continued to teach classes and workshops wherever life took her and loves helping people discover a love of dance. She has choreographed for the JCC in Manhattan, Kids Who Care Inc. in TX and the Firehouse Theatre in MA. After all that, Rachel is excited that her next adventure is right here sharing her love of dance with you!
Alexa "Lexie" Sahagian
Lexie is originally from Long Island, NY, where she grew up training in various styles of dance. After competing for many years, Lexie moved on to teaching. She has taught at multiple studios as well as coached many high school and college dance teams. After graduating, she was accepted onto AbstraKT Beings: The Company directed by Theresa Stone. Within the last few years, Lexie came to NYC to continue her training. She completed the Professional Semester at Broadway Dance Center, where she worked with and assisted many well known choreographers such as Hannah Frederick, Theresa Stone, Neil Schwartz, Keenan Cooks, David Thomas etc. Since then, Lexie has moved to NYC to continue working and training as a Professional Dancer. Credits include America's Got Talent, "Z" ft. Fetty Wap Music Video, Good Morning America, Pushing Progress, Carnival, Run the Night, etc. Lexie looks forward to continuing to grow and learn while sharing everything she has learned along the way!
Debra Wiseman Tobias enjoyed a varied career before arriving in Fairfield County. She majored in Musical Theater at Syracuse University and went onto perform professionally on Broadway, Off-Broadway, National Tours, and in regional theaters all over the world. She also did films, T.V shows, and numerous commercials/voiceovers. Some of her favorite theater productions include Side Show, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, Legally Blonde, and Fiddler on the Roof. Her favorite cinema experience was being part of the Oscar winning Bullets Over Broadway directed by Woody Allen. Her favorite TV experience plays every Christmas season, Mrs. Santa Claus (music by Jerry Herman, starring Angela Lansbury). All the while Debra stayed on top of he training at Steps NY. Debra is thrilled to be teaching our future showstoppers while raising her family in beautiful Fairfield county.
